   Can someone tell me why my style sheet is no longer attached (as long as that is actually the real problem...

   The code seems to see it:
   <style type="text/css" media="screen">
   @import url( http://newbiedesigner.com/wp-content/themes/df_simpress/style.css );
   </style>

   the problem is here: http://newbiedesigner.com/

   I was tweaking the style sheet so I thought it might have been something I did but I replaced it with the old one and I still have the same problem.

   Your stylesheet is attached or you have already fixed your issue. Otherwise, I would have seen the unformatted layout in the 3 browsers I checked your website.

   No wonder I couldn't find the problem!
   Cleared cache... sorted.
