My SQL Error (2 posts)

Hi! I've tried reinstalling WAMP and then WordPress. I start with a root user without a password. Then, I see the warning in mySQL that says:

Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user 'root'.

So I try to change the WordPress config file and the user database and mySQL.ini file but the results just go from bad to worse. I clearly don't know what I'm missing. Any step-by-step assistance?

    Thanks in advance,

    Linda Cullen
