hello everyone, I woke up today to see that my site http://mikesmithconsulting.co.uk seemed to be down, i figured it was a wordpress problem and that I'd have to re upload some of the WP files, i went to /wp-admin and i got the same page, I tried to log into my FCP client and it gave me this:

    Status:	Waiting to retry...
    Status:	Resolving address of ftp.mikesmithconsulting.co.uk
Status:	Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known".
Error:	Could not connect to server

it still seemed like wordpress was playing up, but when I tried to access /cpanel it didn't work either, so I'm pretty lost (much like my site it seems).
Please help, I have access to the WHM service wich controls all the sites on my server, (I checked if any others were down and they aren't.)
and again please help, this is very urgent. Thanks!

ok :) many thanks for the help spherical and UseShots. One last question, do I just renew it and my site comes back up or do I have to set the site up again from scratch?
    thanks again.

Just go to the registrar where you first registered the domain and renew it. The DNS will begin resolving in a little while and everything will be back as if it never was gone. They don't mess with your files; they don't have access. They can shut off DNS, though, so the requests for your domain no longer are pointed to where your server is.
