Ok, so my site somehow got corrupted and even the update did not fix it. Problem is my database is 19.57 mb which I was able to get from my host site. Unfortunately I want to launch from scratch with all new files and do an import but I cannot export my site and keep getting error 500..i've increased the memory to 64mb in my wp-config.php file that didn't fix it so I want to start from scratch. Can I use my db I got from my host to launch a new install and restore my old posts without using the wp export file and only my db file? If so can you walk me through it or point me in the direction of a good tutorial.

Your posts are all in your database. Media files in server wp-contents/upload/ folder.

If you don't have access to your php.ini file, maybe you could ask tech support of webhosting service to increase it for you. That would also work so that you can export XML
