Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security - Firewall, Malware Scan, and Login Security » My site host thinks I'm emailing spam with Wordfence messages

  • My hosting company keeps “suspending” my account because it claims my site is generating spam emails. All the sample information they provide have the subject “”[Wordfence Alert] Problems found on wxxxxx.com/wordpress” (I’ve substituted x’s for part of my site’s name).

Is this related to some sort of behavior of Wordfence, or is this just a coincidence that all the “spam” messages they claim are being sent out appear to be the Wordfence alerts that I’ve requested from the plugin?

The hosting company isn’t being the least bit helpful in this, simply telling me (again and again) to make sure my plug-ins and theme are up to date, to scan my site, etc. (all of which I’m already doing).

Any ideas on where to go from here?

  • Go to another hosting company.
    1) They don’t recognize the value of the outgoing email…that’s going to a single email address…that nobody’s complaining about.
    2) Their customer service is “limited”…to put it politely.
