    Hi.

So, the search form in my header was really annoying me.

Fed up, I went into the searchform.php file and deleted the code in it.

...yes, the whole thing. I just selected all and hit delete and then saved a blank searchform.php.

(It was late; I was frustrated and tired.)

I admit I had a very brief moment of deleter's remorse, and then I was so happy it was finally gone from my header that I forgot about it until I wanted to add a search box widget in my main sidebar.

    Yeah. Oops.

Does anyone have the code for the searchform.php file? I need to copy it back into there.

    (I know, I know.)

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

Restore the original theme and then create a child theme for your customisations.
