I know it barely affects the site, just on "appereance".. but I dont know why it does it, instead of going from 1 to 10.. it does 1,3,5,7,9... or sometimes a bigger gap.. like postid9 and the next one is postid12... And I havent published anything in between.. I can publish 2 posts in the same minute.. and there will still be a difference of 2 in the number..
Anyone knows what's happening? its a bit annoying..

its probably the draft thing, if you look in your db you'll be able to tell.
Attachments/images also "consume" a post_id.
Pages, too.
And any deleted post...

Yea i know that, but I dont do anything in between... its wierd.. I have 3 sites using wp and it aonly happens in this one..
I've only got 60 entries.. and its already on postid 110...
as whooami noted, sounds like the versioning stuff in your case.

I had a look at the db.. and this is what I see...
Most of the post.. have 3 "copies"... like:
in "post-name".. 99-revision, 99-autosave, 99-revision-2, and then the good one..
How can I avoid these being saved?
