• Hi:

I’m new to WordPress, and I’m having difficulty keeping my paragraphs separated from each other. In Visual mode when I’m adding text, I’ll hit the Enter button to create a new paragraph, and it will look on the screen like I’ve created a new paragraph, but when I go to actually view the completed page the text will still be all cramped together, with no paragraphs having been created.

Since I’ve previously worked a little bit with HTML, I’ve then switched into Text mode for editing the page, and have added the code   there to create new paragraphs where I’ve wanted them to be. This has worked successfully, but then sometimes all the text will collapse back together again, and the paragraphs that I’ve created will be gone.

Do you have any idea what may be going on, and what my solution is?

    Thanks.

    Jim

When I posted my original post the system eliminated the code that I mentioned I had used to create the new paragraphs within Text mode. That code is ampersand nbsp semicolon.

In TEXT mode you must actually embed an empty line between paragraphs (although you could also wrap them in P tags).
