This is my little blog for my hobbies, mainly amateur astronomy and telescope building.

I have used Tiga and after ironing our a few bugs, it is error free.

I actually have learnt a lot by moving code around, the "cause and effect" method - move the code, see what it does!

I chose combinations of blue shades and black because of the space/astronomy theme to the topics.

    any comments appreciated.

sweet, now thats a cool background. how did you get those stars and stuff? Looks awesome.

The front page isn't very "big", that is to say, it doesn't come down the screen a lot, and seems fairly top-heavy. apart from that, the layout is excellent and your images are awesome.

    keep up the good work!

I like your background image, but the fact that the various page elements don't seem to be held together is visually disturbing.

Thanks for your comments Fernby and Chrisber.

The background image I have had for a while, I honestly don't remember where I got it from originally, but it is a small 240x240 jpg file repeated.

The header image I created myself. It is a close caricature of myself. Thank you for your thoughts on my images. I will be postimg more in the coming months.

I agree with the front page being top heavy. I am trying to find a way to "fix" the footer to line up level with the bottom of the right sidebar. Then I will fill the front page with an image and more text.

Chrisber, can you clarify what you mean about the page element "don't seem to be held together"? I would love to know more about what you mean.

    Cheers.

The fact that your sidebars are longer than the main content area, and the background image fills in the void is just very unusual. It looks like 3 disjointed elements instead of a cohesive page. A footer would give the whole page a more finished look.

Chrisber, thanks, I understand what you mean. I would like to fix the footer in some way and have the centre/main content area at a fixed length, but I have had no replies to my posts regarding this. I have searched and located some information about fixing the post length to be the same as the sidebar length, but my inexperience in CSS at this stage make me wary of modifying my CCS too much. But thank you for pointing this out.
