my-link-order broken in 2.8.4 (37 posts)

That's really weird, mine was patched correctly after the 2.8.4 upgrade. I see the 'order' line at line 683 and I haven't heard of any other cases of this happening. I'm stumped, I don't know why it would insert at the wrong lines.

I've been trying to find time to work on a complete overhaul of the plugin that would end dependency on taxonomy.php. Too much of a pain to keep things working as it is. Back in the 1.5 and 2.0 days you use to be able to pass in any sort parameter you wanted, but I never got away from that design.

Hope someone is still monitoring this thread! Froman, I appreciate you keeping us posted and helping us out!!

I'm using WP 2.8.5 with MLO 2.8.4. Before yesterday I had an older version of both and everything worked fine.

Yesterday I upgraded WP and all my plug-ins.

    1) It allowed me to drag the links where I wanted them when I first upgraded my WP and the plug-in.

    2) However, my site would not publish the changes.

    3) In order to troubleshoot this I disabled another plug-in which managed widgets. I had upgraded a half dozen plug-ins that day and thought maybe there was an incompatibility with another plug-in. I actually deleted this unused plug in and don't remember what it was.

    4) After removing this other plug-in now I have no ability to drag and reorder my links at all! It won't grab them and just highlights the text on the page when I try rolling over it.

Hmmm...I'm puzzled! Either way I now have no MLO functioning at all. Really use this plug in. Gosh, I'm sorry I followed the notice on my plug-in page and upgraded.

Is there any hope for me to get it up and running again???

I have an RSS feed of the my-link-order tag so I try and catch everything that gets posted.

If the drag and drop worked before you upgraded a bunch of plugins and stopped after the upgrades, I can almost guarantee one of those other plugins are the culprit. With the drag and drop it is actually possible for one plugin to break other plugins.

So really the only thing to do is disable the plugins that got upgraded and see which one is breaking MLO. Can you list the plugins? Might be able to help narrow it down.

Thanks a million for being so attentive and available!

The plugins that I recently updated are:
    All in One SEO Pack
    Share This
Thesis Open Hook (my theme editor)

    I also added that day:
    WP Exploit Scanner

I guess I should start deactivating things and see what helps. IF it helps you to look at this site it's at: http://www.allisonpeacock.com

Any immediate ideas from looking at the list? Any fixes for going around the problem?

All in One SEO is fine, I've got that installed.

I looked at those others real quick and nothing stood out. Can you send me the source HTML from the My Link Order page in your admin area? Right click the page, hit View Source and copy and paste it into an email to me, froman118@gmail.com .

alfafips's solution on page 1 worked for me (thanks). No patch needed. Make sure you're using the "My Link Order" widget and not the "Links" widget.

Version 2.8.7 works fine under WP 2.8.6 (with the php code; am not using widgets).
    Thanks
