   I've been hunting around for a week or so trying to find my ideal gallery plugin, with no success.

   My ideal gallery plugin would:

   • Be simple and not clumsy to use (I find the NextGEN UI atrocious)
   • Use WordPress' own Media Library (not it's own separate one)
   • Produce valid HTML, maybe make use of the HTML5 video tag, and not rely on Flash
   • Allow me to organise photos/video into albums or categories of some sort
   • Have a mosaic mode like Apple's MobileMe gallery

   Does anyone know of anything like this out there?

   I suggest to start coding... I had the same problem and develop my own gallery plugin which fits exact to my needs.

   Well, I know what HTML means. I guess that's start.

   Or to put it another way, that some people can write software doesn't miraculously make us all programmers (or want to be for that matter).
