Hi,

Er... ignore what I said if you saw it. Which profile link? I see yours and your site URL.
So you can click "Morten"?
Logged in or out, I can only see "Morten" in bold - not clickable.
"Morten" is definitely a blue link for me too.
In Opera 11.10, Firefox 5.0, Chrome 12.0.742.100 & IE 9.0 My ID (Morten) is allways not clickable.
When I log in it is still not clickable.
This is what I see
This is my setup
Try flushing your browser cache and clearing your cookies.
Problem is identical on any computer I use - I have tested 5 different so far, all with IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome.
Weird! I can't understand why it's only your name/link that is being affected.
Um - are you logged in when viewing these links and your profile? Because the only way I can replicate what you've described is by viewing this page (or your profile) in another browser where I'm not logged in.
If I was logged in, my profile would display my blog URI (but still no homepage), so the last image is from a public profile/me not being logged on.
When I'm not logged in I can see your ID as clickable and, as well as IPstenu. The same I do when logged on. This is not the case with my ID.
If you can see my homepage URI logged in and out when viewing this thread, as well as when viewing my profile, then there must be something about Locale/region that is beyond my control - I'm in Norway.
Looking through some threads I find that it's only the minority of "mature" members with clickable IDs. This can of course be by choice, and I cannot check this, but I would think that most would like to market their presence and have their ID clickable to the destination of their choice.
Some examples:

Did you JUST add your domain in recently or has it always been there?
I added my website to the profile a couple of days ago. I changed my Id display name earlier today from rosmo01, and that was updated shortly after I changed it.
Hmm. I wonder if the newness of the URL is what's triggering it.
Esmi and I can see it, but we're admins and can see everything. (I have x-ray spex!)
Then I should also see the URL when I view the profile as logged in - I don't.
When I view my profile as logged in I only see the blog URI - not the web page:

Blog 1 Address http://www.ross.no/communicate
I entered the blog info yesterday, and can see it when logged in - so why not also the web page?
When I'm not logged in, my profile only displays my Gravatar - nothing else!
I'm not an admin, and your name is not clickable by me, dunno if that means anything......
I have no idea what the clickable is based on. You've been a member for a while, but don't have a huge amount of posts...
Is it related to that? Maybe there is a super secret formula!
Morten, it makes sense (in a back assward way) that you can't see it. The lock is, IIRC, to user TYPE. You're a member (as is Rev) and members cannot see webURLs on Profiles unless the magic formula is reached.
I THOUGHT the formula was 'Time spent + posts made' but I may be wrong, and I'll have to appeal to higher sources. Off to look!
I THOUGHT the formula was 'Time spent + posts made'
I had hoped it involved square roots..... or at least coefficients.....
;)
Fractals.
Nah - it depends upon which way the wind is blowing.
Seriously, though, I always thought that this was a manual switch. If I'm correct (and that's one big "if"), it could be that the manual changes are carried out in batches, - hence it could take longer for some people than others.
I still have this problem - almost half a year since I reported it, and more than 2 years with this profile
You still haven't been active enough would be my guess.
Looking at your profile, you make some posts. But not a lot compared with folks whose names have magically linkafied
Again, I don't know the formula. But I was making multiple posts per day (like 20 or 30) for months, steadily, before I got click-y-fied
So, if I had to guess, the link is maybe a reward for being a valuable member of the community here. - Although my value may be debateable! ;) - stick around, and help people.
Rev's right. The fact is: it's magical *does the WOOSH effect with both hands*.
When you stop worrying about the clicky-ness of your name in the forums, and have totally put it out of your mind, and you've been a good volunteer, THEN maybe, just maybe, the Name Clicky Elves will visit you.
When it happens you won't even feel a bit different! :D
It probably works a lot better if you really don't bother about such things, and just get on with it. :)
You must log in to post.
