This is a static html site and I added WordPress blog to it. Login / Registration details are on every page. I lost my new post here http://www.studyenglishinuk.net/learn-english-in-england/

Any help is greatly appreciated, I have already asked Ipage, my hosting provider, for MySQL Database backup. They only provide a Database backup for the last 3 days. This issue started last week after an unsuccesful attempt to delete one html file from the server.

Where did you install WP into that domain? What urls are entered in Settings -> General?

Thank you very much for your quick answer. In the Settings should be studyenglishinuk.net/ because all files wp-config.php etc are, in the root directory.

In the themes I have 3 folders: twentyeleven, twentyten and studyenglishinuk which I renamed, hoping WordPress will pickup the default theme and I will be able to log in back into admin pannel.

Of course I also have the other html files in the root directory, WordPress will pick up the html file as long as in the Settings I have studyenglishinuk.net.

Is this WP site intended to replace your static site?

Yes. I design a static website using HTML where first I make sure that the pages I create load and operate as intended. Later on I customize my theme around my new html template. My site is intended to have WordPress blog gradually making a transition from a static HTML site to WordPress CMS.

You would be far better off installing WordPress in a sub-folder and then seeing Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory when you’re ready to launch the new site. What you are trying to do now just won’t work.

It has been working until now, and I don’t think it will change anything if I clean up html files, delete them from the server, or do you think WordPress will make changes in the filesystem?

It must be a way to check for WordPress Errors. This problem started when I have tried to delete a file or a picture, don’t remember exactely what it was, but sudenly I see how WordPress files are getting deleted, so I quickly stoped this operation. Later I uploaded all files from the main directory back, and wp-includes, probabelly wp-admin only wp-content I left along because I read somewhere will not do any good if I delete it.
