After restarting my computer, I tried to log in to post to my blog. I am able to enter my login information but then just get a blank white screen - no dashboard at all. My blog is still up. When typing in the url with wp-admin, I get a 404. I can only get to the login screen from my hosting site. Everything else on my computer works fine. I have tried in both chrome and safari.

try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit.
-switching to the default theme ("twentyten") for a moment by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

The problem is that I can't see my dashboard at all. Now it appears that my blog is gone as well. Off to ask my web host what is going on. Thank goodness I backed it up fairly recently!

Well - It's back! i updated wordpress through my host and everything has reappeared. Thanks for the help!
