My dashboard has no Plugin option

Hi!

I have the site – theartmuse.net. For some reason, I do not have the add option in the Plugins section of the dashbaord. It only allows me to search installed plugins. The hosting company has tried helping me, but this is a WordPress issue. Not sure what is going on and what to do. I have to download a work related plugin. Please help.

My problem is that I don’t have the capability to add any plugins because the site isn’t recognizing me as a admin – Even though it says I’m one on the User profile.

anaritax, you have a blog at WordPress.com.

They don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/

However, they do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/

James huff…is there something i can order to get the plugin option….i really dont fell like going between two different sites

if your site is with WordPress.com, ther there is no way to use plugins; please ask at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/ to get confirmation.

if plugins are important to your site, then most probably you have to create a self-hosted site based on WordPress.org – https://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPress

@alchymyth The distinction between hosted and self-hosted sites with regard to plugins was not clear when I created my site – I only discovered this when it didn’t work. ugh.

Is there any way to upload/display a favicon on my wordpress.com site?
