• I am quite new to php and wordpress. On 12th Dec 2013, I installed wordpress in my directory “padasalgi.in” on hostgator server.I created a test/sample webpage by name “My Blog”. Since I do not know the correct procedure though this page was published whenever I click visit my site it takes me to my padasalgi.in index file which is hosted with hostgator .Please advise and guide me how I can create and publish my different web pages using word press and in which directory I have to save them for surfing in future so that these files do not mix up with my other files already hosted on the server. Is it ok if I move all the wordpress installed files to separate folder.Pl advise.
    Thanks

It looks like you installed WordPress into a directory called ‘wordPress’ so you can access it at http://padasalgi.in/wordpress you can manage your content by logging in at http://padasalgi.in/wordpress/wp-admin

No. I have installed ‘wordpres’ in “padasalgi.in” directory itself and this is my url contain the index.html file which opens when I go to padasalgi.in.If i go to http://padasalgi.in/wp-admin the wordpress dashboard page opens. Can I now transfer all files relating to wordpress to separate “wordpress” folder. Please advise me how can I see MY Blog webpage.
Please excuse my ignorance in dealing with this new installation.
    Thanks for your prompt response.

rename the index.html file. It is not part of WordPress and the browser is opening that in preference to looking for index.php

Also contact hostgator and ask them to deactivate the redirect to the ginwiz mobile site you have setup as that is all I see on the iPad.

I do not want to rename or make any changes to web pages already hosted on the hostgator server as it contains many links. Please advise me will it be in order to install wordpress on the separate folder and delete all the wordpress files in the present folder

    Thanks

I don’t know how you have your server setup. Renaming a file is reversible – that is why I did not suggest deleting it. I suggest you contact hostgator’s support if you are unable to follow my suggestion as they can see what you have installed in addition to WordPress.

I uninstalled the earlier wordpress and again re installed it in a separate folder by name “wordpress” and now I can see my first myweb page.I want to know how to edit these web pages using note pad. and how to convert these php files into html.
    Thanks for all your guidance.

WordPress does not work like that. It does not create static pages that can be edited directly.
