   OMG!!! My blog of two plus years just disappeared. I've been having trouble with WP 2.8.2 and now the whole blog is gone.

   I have a back-up, but have no clue what to do with it? Can anyone help me?

   Does the 'Wordpress Database Back-up' that is emailed to me every so ofter contain things like previous posts, themes and plug-ins?

   it doesnt contain themes and plugins, the back-up that is emailed to you is just the database tables which contains registered users,passwords,comments etc.
   You need your whole wordpress folder that you uploaded as well as the datbase back-up inorder to restore your site under a new host.
