    My blog at http://www.thedeepsilence.com
often goes down just for me. Everyone else can access it but me. Moreover the online checker also tells me that it's up.
I can access it with a proxy website. It goes down almost daily for some time and then starts working after a couple of hours (time not fixed). I cannot even ping it with cmd. It return "could not find host http://www.thedeepsilence.com. Please check the name and try again"

    Someone please help me. :(

  2. If you can access it via a proxy site, I would say that the problem is your ISP's DNS tables. You'll have to contact whomever is your internet service provider (AT&T, comcast, etc).

Thanks for replying. Can you please tell me what should I ask them for. I am a newbie and don't even know well about DNS tables.

  4. First reboot your modem at home. The generally flushes out weird caches and will probably give you a new IP. If the problem persists, you'll have to ask if you can be pointed to a new DNS server. This can usually be specified in your Modem's admin section.

Ok. . . I'll tell whether it worked or not. And for modem restarting, the site usually goes down at some time and then starts working again after some time without me changing a single setting or restarting my modem. And I missed to tell one thing. All the other sites hosted on the same server always work fine. It's just this one site that has the problem

Restarting the modem doesn't work. :(

  7. Right, which is why it's probably the DNS entry. See, all the URLS are stored in DNS, which translates them into computer speak. When that translation breaks, you can't get to the site.

Tell your host that the DNS server you're on is having problems. That you can't get to some websites, but you can on other networks. Ask if they can refresh the DNS tables, or point you to a different server.

FWIW, this happens from time to time. Sometimes it resolves on its own, sometimes it doesn't :( Good luck.

I´m probably having the same problem. I asked my host provider and told me to come and speak with wordpress support because there was nothing they could do.

In my case, I have installed the same wordpress three times and always happends the same. It´s working well, then the backoffice, the frontoffice or both go down. If I wait for a while It normally return but sometimes don´t and I have to delete and reinstall.

I have asked my host again about dns... they told me this:

The nameservers of your domain are pointing to us. The WordPress application is now coming up fine without any issues. If you are experiencing the issue, you can provide us the screenshot of the page to further investigate on your issue.

They have forwarded your issue to theie engineers for further investigation.
