   Hi!

   I'm running the newest version of wordpress and Akismet.
   Because of a lot of spamcomments, i disabled comments for guests. I activated the option "Options -> General -> Users must be registered and logged in to comment" to fight spam temporarily.
   My readers can actually not post comments, but the spams keeps invading my blog. Why? Bug?

   No. Not bug. Those are not comments but mainly trackback spam. Install BadBehavior.

   Hmmm, shouldn't Akismet fight trackback spam?

   It does. My trackbacks show up in Akismet all the time. Are yours getting through? Mark them as spam and send them into Akismet for review.

   edit: Actually having this conversation over in wp.com land currently.

   Now Akismet fights the new Spam, it just had to learn... >.<
