The file 'wp-config.php' already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.

I get that same error if I click on "Update your profile or change your password" on the Dashboard.

Any idea how to fix this? I forgot my password, and need to change it, so I can submit the blog to Technorati.

You forgot your database password or your admin password?

If admin, delete the wp-config.php file and run the install.php file again. Your database won't be affected, but backup in case.

I just found my password in the email it sent me at install, so I am good there.

Is the only way to fix this problem, however, to reinstall? I'm scared.

    Don't be - it's no big deal.
    Just backup DB "in case".

If you lose or forget your password, it's not difficult to reset it:

Hmmmm... ok well that didn't seem to work. I deleted the wp-config.php (actually renamed it with _bk on the end), and ran the install.php, but I get this:

    ##########
There doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn't work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.
    ##########

The wp-config.php file has all the info necessary to run the install, db name, pass, etc... so I don't understand why you want me to delete it?

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE REAL SOLUTION HERE?

    Thanks...

The question again is, why is profile.php spitting out this error?

Why do blondes have holes in their faces? Cause they eat with forks! HAHA...

Any ideas on how to fix this error which is produced from profile.php? --OR-- how to reinstall and restore my entire wordpress, including database/uploads, etc??
