   I've encountered a strange bug. I must save everything twice. If I don't, my database does not update and I lose all the changes. The must save twice affects posts, pages,
   and even changing the description of the NextGen gallery.

   I've had this bug since I started using wordpress (Nov '10), using versions 3.0.1, 3.0.2, and now, 3.0.3. I'm using the Atahualpa 3.4.9 theme and a few plug-ins including nextgen gallery, WPtouch, and WP Underground.

   I've lost a lot of work over the past month by not realizing i needed to save everything twice. What can I do to fix this bug? Thank you!

   Have you tried:

   - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

   - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

   Thanks @esmi. Tried to deactivate ALL the plug-ins and switched back to the default theme, Twenty Ten. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck with the same issue.

   It is so weird that I hit the update (save) button once... Everything is still captured on the page, but the database doesn't appear to be updated (since the Revision history does not include a new entry).

   But then i hit the update button a second-time and then the current set of changes are captured and locked into the revision history for the page.

   So frustrating!!! I've lost hours and hours of changes over the past month due to this bug. At least i now know it exists. Any other ideas to troubleshoot are greatly appreciated.

   Try:

   - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

   - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress

   - increasing the memory available to PHP

   adding define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); to the bottom of your wp-config.php file (just before the require_once line).

   Do you have access to server error logs?

   Thanks @esmi.

   I tried resetting the plugings folder, reuploading the wp-admin and wp-includes, and adding the define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); line.

   There are no changes to the functionality. I appreciate the help, but at this point i've got a working website and a very clean workaround (to save things twice). And i have much love for anyone who does IT support.
