Paul you were sharp enough to diagnose an Amazon Link problem outside of the scope of your plugin … for which I was most appreciative.

Here is a story of you supporting and contributing come full circle. I hunted for plugins to handle Amazon Links in WordPress … AL caught my eye … but alas, there was a learning curve so I set the AL Plugin aside … had my manual Az Links problem … and the problem got diagnosed and solved by you via the WordPress Forums … outside of the scope of you supporting bona-fide AL Plugin users. Again, many thanks.

So, here I am again, the Az Links have just gone pfffft for I don’t know why. In two WP installations the Az Links have just gone flat, as in they do not show up on a page? I cannot imagine what setting I could have triggered? Have you any ideas on this?

Just solved the issue. And praise for you because, I went back and re-read the WP Forum Post detailing my problem before and sure enough, somehow an Ad Block Extension got re-enabled in my Chrome Browser, it if would not have been for you lending your brains to my problem, the first time, I certainly would not have figured out the problem, which has now happened for the second time.

You’ve got my vote, big-time. Thanks much.

Can I assume that using the AL Plugin would prevent this problem from ever pulling my hair out again?? As in would AL Plugin circumvent the reach of an Ad Block type extension?

    Hi,

Glad you got the problems sorted.

Unfortunately as the adblock is in the client if you use the Amazon iframe or javascript to display products then the browser will usually block them.

I’d always advocate putting a few simple text links or buy buttons in your posts for the occasions when the iframes are blocked.

If you are a HTML/CSS genius (I’m not!) then you could design your own product ‘Template’ that looks just like the Amazon one, this would not be blocked by Ad-block software.

    Hello Paul,
    Thanks for the plugin.
Why does it show French Amazon product when I expect it to show US product?
Is it related to DEFAULT CHANNEL?

Can I display product (like camera) review underneath the image?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Usually best to start a new thread, otherwise your question might get missed.

Anyway, thanks for trying the plugin, the things that control the localisation are:

‘Default Locale’ in the Settings page is your ‘home’ locale – where you are located and search for products where the ASINs you enter should always be valid.

‘Localisation’ in the Settings page (when the ip2nation database is installed) will make the plugin show French amazon links if the visitor is located in France.

You can check your locale is correct by visiting http://www.ip2nation.com.

The ‘Default Channel’ just holds your associate IDs for the various locales.

    Hope that helps,

    Paul
