I have a WordPress Multisite with a main domain and subdomains. I installed buddypress to test it on one of my subdomains at profiles.fatfreefilm.com
Now my main domain defaults to the buddypress subdomain page when you type the URL into a browser and don't include the "www"
So to be clear, now when I type in http://fatfreefilm.com it redirects to http://profiles.fatfreefilm.com/
Did you follow http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/ to install it on the NON main site?

I re-checked those settings and the ones that are necessary were done.
this had been done to set the secondary site to profiles.fatfreefilm.com
define ( 'BP_ROOT_BLOG', 3 );
in the wp-config.php file to make it the root blog for buddypress.
Still, the only real problem is that when you put in anything.fatfreefilm.com (any subdomain that doesn't exist) and you would get the profiles.fatfreefilm.com site.
The one thing I noticed was this line.
define( 'DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'www.fatfreefilm.com' );
I took the www off and now it just returns no page at all if you do anything.fatfreefilm.com
I guess that's better than returning the profiles.fatfreefilm.com site.
Any idea what is up here though?
