Looking for someone I can chat with about Multisite vs. stand-alone WP install for a specific situation. We're running more than 50 WP installs. I'm not new to WP, not looking for "how-to-s" as much as advice on whether to set up Multisite or individual standalone installs for one particular situation. Will compensate for your time, which hopefully will be 15 minutes or less.

  3. If you're looking to hire someone for consulting, you want http://jobs.wordpress.net

Or you can just post your questions here: the volunteers who hang in this subforum have seen a lot of "is multisite right for my situation" questions.

Thanks esmi, Amy and Ipstenu. I have a customer with 9 locations (and growing) and all would use the same theme, except the content is different (targeted geographically and modified enough to avoid duplicate content). I assumed multisite would allow me to use the same theme across most of his locations. I can set up 9 installs of WP, one for each domain (and stay within my comfort zone) but thought using Multisite might be the smarter choice. The sites need to appear (seamlessly) as different domain names. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  5. You can do that with Multisite.

    1) Only install one theme.
    2) Install WordPress MU Domain mapping

ipstenu.org and halfelf.org are on the same Multisite instance ;)
