Just a quick question hopefully :D

There are so many pages around that give different information on how to modify the theme so the custom header and background option become available.

    BG Option

Is there a page that refers tot he lates tmultisite and not WPMU, etc?

    Thanks in advance,

    Michael

  2. Well. If your theme has the feature (like in that screenshot, you're using TwentyEleven, which has it built in) then it's there.

It's not a MultiSite thing, it's just a theme thing.

  3. For the built in custom header and background features, adding theme support is the exact same lines with the exact same steps every single time. Doesn't matter if it was MU or now multisite or single site. the function is the same.

Well if my theme would support it, I'd not need to ask for help about them. I did nto know that it was a feature that was available for wordpress in general and thought it would be multisite related.

Did not have time to read into it, so I decided for a quick and dirty solution that might help someone else with the issue.

I put background and header pictures into css and then added the following line

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php global $blog_id; bloginfo('template_url'); echo "/" .$blog_id . ".css";?>" type="text/css" media="screen" />

It loads 1.css for site 1, etc ...

This way I can even tune it a bit more than just with header/background.

    Thanks for the replies!

  5. What we're saying is this: It's not a MultiSite question, it's a THEME question.

Is there a page that refers tot he lates tmultisite and not WPMU, etc?

No, because there's nothing that is inherently MultiSite (or WPMU) specific.

There are so many pages around that give different information on how to modify the theme so the custom header and background option become available.

Yes, use whichever one you're comfy with.

If you're JUST changing CSS, look at the Safe CSS plugin.

If you want to make an options page for your theme: http://blog.themeforest.net/wordpress/create-an-options-page-for-your-wordpress-theme/

  6. I can't believe the codex hasn't added pages on this other than the function ones.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_custom_background
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_custom_image_header

Looking at themes that include it show you how it;s done. You don;t even need to grab the blog ID.

  8. Time to ask Chip to put that on the Codex!
