  • AFAIK, you should always use a domain name and not an IP address. You can create a fake domain name in your hosts file that’ll point to the IP address. If you want to switch to a domain name now, you’d either have to do a search and replace on the database or do a reinstall (if this is a test site, reinstall would be easiest).

    Try that and see if the issue resolves.

    Thaks for the suggestion. I tried using a fake domain and changing the links in the database but it still did not work. I was in a rush with this so in the end just installed the new site in a different location.
