Just installed clean new multisite, and set up a few sites. Logged in as the Super Admin, I then go to My Sites => Network Admin => Sites, then click on the "Dashboard" link that appears when hovering under any one of the Domains, and ....
... it throws me back to a login screen, where no user/password combination will log me in. I can go back to a previous screen using browser controls. If I log right out and login again on any browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari), I get the same behavior.
What is going on?
Any plugins? Turn 'em off.
Did you ATTEMPT to go into these sites' wp-admin after setup or only after all this time?

Thanks for your response. Yes, all plugins were turned off. I was able to login to the primary multisite domain wp-admin straight away, but I was never able to login to the additional domains wp-admin as they were created.
I reinstalled WordPress Multisite (clean install) three separate times, using the Multisite Domain Mapping plugin and tutorial:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/
http://ottopress.com/2010/wordpress-3-0-multisite-domain-mapping-tutorial/
... on the most recent install this morning, I have been able to login to the new mapped domains. I have done nothing new, so I am not real confident about why things are suddenly working. Just happy they are.
Likely DNS. Your subdomains may not have propagated yet.
