Multisite Installation problem with uploading blogs (3 posts)

I configured the server as a multisite configuration and setup the network. Before I setup the network segment of the site and just installed the WordPress 3.1.1 on the server it worked fine and all the permalinks on the site worked fine and I could add and remove a blog. Once I updated the site and went to a multisite (via wp instructions) then on all the permalinks I get the following error:

    Not Found

The requested URL /blog/2011/04/22/hello-world/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.17 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at ebagoo.com Port 80 "

I need some help so that I can understand why this is happening.

    Thanks.

More than likley, your .htaccess files wasn't created or isn't being read. Can you check that you have a .htaccess file and what it has for contents?

Yeah, that's actually a server side error too. Seems like it does not liek the new htaccess file.

Before I setup the network segment of the site and just installed the WordPress 3.1.1 on the server it worked fine and all the permalinks on the site worked fine and I could add and remove a blog.

Minor terminology quibble, becasue yes it does matter.

I think you mean you could add an remove a *post*. Or an entry. Not a blog.

Blogs and sites are the same thing. Individual posts are not.
