Multisite domain change (4 posts)

    Hi all,

    I'm having the following issue:

A few days ago I created the new website of my company based on WordPress. The url /domain is http://www.rondawalks.com Then I decided to make more "international" so I thought the best option would be to create sub-domains like deutsch.rondawalks.com , italiano.rondawalks.com etc... I was reading that the best option was to create WP Multisite so I did it. Now I have a multisite with the possibility to create different subdomains.

The issue is that now I want to change the domain http://www.rondawalks.com to http://www.welovemalaga.com (the real name of my company), and honestly I have not clue how to do it. Once I have it done I will create the sub domains and start the translation. I'm pretty sure that's and easy question to solve but my skills with WP are not very professional... I'm afraid to mess up everything and start the site from the very beginning.

Thank you all for your support.

  2. The easiest thing to do is to revert Multisite, move to the new domain, and build from there. Moving Multisite is a pain and not worth the headache if you haven't set things up yet.

Thanks! I think I'll do that, I've tried different options but no solutions so far. Do you know any good tutorial to revert Multisite? I found a few but very confusing and seem to be not very updated.

Another question is: I have everything set up for the main site (post, pictures, plugings, etc) Do I loose all them when I revert? Is there a way I can backup files and just import when I'm done?

    Thanks for your help! :-)
