i am running buddypress on one of the subsites in my wordpress multisite network.

once installing buddypress, all internal notifications are now from the site which effectively uses buddypress.

i had to define the default site for buddypress in the wp-config.php file since it is not the root site.

how do i have all notifications come from wordpress as it used to?

notifications that are affected for example are: new site additions to the network, comment notifications from any site in the network, etc.

    Did you network activate BuddyPress?

http://buddypress.org/support/topic/install-bp-in-a-sub-blog/ – I know you can do this, but it’s a question you may want to ask on buddypress.org

yes, i did network activate it.

thank you for that link. when i installed it originally it had to be network activated.

now i can use it locally on that one sub site and see if that fixes anything.

i did ask on buddypress.org too, but sadly no response 🙁

    thanks.

Well if you network activate it, then it’s network activated and that’s what you get. You’ve been able to per-site activate BP for … about 3 years now?

ah, well i feel silly 🙂

the tutorial i followed stressed the importance of network activating or else it would malfunction, but either way i was able to activate it successfully on one blog.

i will close this topic if i can prove that it solved the email notification issue.

    thanks for your help!
