I installed WordPress Multisite and it works great but i have one problem.

I installed a theme that i really like for ALL my websites (sub-domains) but if when i configure the theme options for one of my sites, it will also carry the same configuration of the theme on ALL my other websites in the network of sites.

Is it possible to have the same theme on ALL my sites and have each one look different when i change some options in the theme options menu?

Yes, it is possible to have the same theme on all of your sites. No, it is not possible to have the same theme options set on all of your sites, unless they are the default theme options. You *could* set up one site and then use a plugin like http://wpebooks.com/replicator/ to create each subsite.

    Yes, this is possible.

Edit: if you're changing theme options on one site in the admin area, and it is changing them on ALL site,s check and see what kind of tables the theme has added to the db. If they added new tables instead of using existing wp_options then the theme needs to be fixed.

You need to ask the Thesis Theme folks, then. You get support when you buy their theme.

I did ask that forum (and Tim i did buy the theme ok) and they told me that multisite issues are for the wordpress forum so that why i came here. The problem has nothing to do with the theme.

What i want to know is why when i change the options for the theme on one site why will it also change for all the other subdomain site that i have using the same theme? e.g. if i change the header or background color to blue them it will change all the sites using the same theme to the same header or blue background color as well.

Can i use the same theme on many sites and make all of them look different? e.g. have different headers and background color etc.

If you change the php or css code *in the theme* then yes, it will change the theme on every single site.

If you are in a menu in the admin area and change some theme options - these *should* be stored in the blog options tables. please check. If they aren't then it is an issue with the theme.

I gotta tell ya - every other theme I have tried for WordPress works this way. thesis is one of the very few themes that has issues with multiste.

Yes, it does. They are passing the buck here.

Thanks very much for the help i have gotten here especially Andrea_r because i kinda believe what you say seeing that you have been vocal about a lot of issues people have with wordpress. You seem very knowledgeable about these issues so i will take your word for it.

I think i have hit a brick wall buying this theme because they are not willing to help saying that its a wordpress issue so i think i will just install subdomains manually in my cpanel and upload wordpress manually to each folder and create the blogs from there. Its a lot of work but i don't think i have any choice now

  9. Are you changing the theme in the network area, or on a per-site appearances section?
