[resolved] Multisite and LDAP logins (6 posts)

    Hey WP community,
I'm trying to set up a multi site for students at my university so they can easily create blogs and pages for projects.

The idea is that a student logs in with his LDAP account and registeres a new subdomain (myproject.projects.*.com) on which he can blog and post things.

    I set up simple-ldap-login

To register, I send the students here:
    *****/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2F*****%2Fwp-signup.php

On the initial page, they can login without a problem (and their user gets created). After they created the new site, they can still log in to the main /wp-login.php page and then continue over to their site after they authenticated.
The main problem is that they can't seem to log in at the newly created site (/myproject/wp-login.php) . I "network activated" simple LDAP login but it doesn't seem to work.

Any special instructions on how to get simple LDAP login to work with newly creates sites on subdomains in a mu installation?

I've encountered the same problem. It appears the problem is due to the LDAP settings not automatically propagating to each new site that is set up within the multi-site install.

I made extensive changes to this plugin to make it work with our school's (USC) ldap server. We use Sun's ldap server which is very similar to openldap.
    * There were problems with the author's ldap login process which I had to change. I can detail the process if necessary.
    * Additionally I made some changes that allows me to configure LDAP once and the simple ldap login plugin works for all blog sites I create. This was simple. I changed the following names: add_option, get_option, update_option to add_site_option, get_site_option, and update_site_option
    * Last change I made was made it so only the Super Admin can configure LDAP - used add_submenu_page instead of add_options_page.
