    Host: bluehost.com
    Main domain say: aa.com
    Addon domain say: zz.com

    Actions taken

Installed wordpress on main director / on aa.com
Created web site and installed plugins etc all OK
    Changed theme all OK

    Enable multisite
Installed network and made changed to wp-config and .htaccess as suggested by wordpress

Logged on the cpanel of aa.cam
Added a add-on domain zz.com with an option to create directory /zz under /public_html
Checked directory /zz is created with files put in by cpanel

    Back to wordpress:

Under My sites areated a new site zz to be in directory /aa.com/zz

The site zz is created but no new files are seen in /public_html/zz. Can logon to the site and make changes etc but cannot visit it as going to zz.com gives a default pahe on bluehost.com.

Does anyone know what is going on?

    Thank you

First, the files are virtual. Second, you don’t want to do it as an add-on.

    Correct is this:

    1) Install WP in aa.com
    2) Create a subsite for zz, as aa.com/zz – NO FILES OR FOLDERS WEILL BE CREATED. This is okay 🙂 It’s all virtual. Don’t panic.
    3) PARK the domain zz.com ON TOP of aa.com (so if you go to zz.com, right now, it takes you to aa.com, again, no panicking, this is as it should be)
    4) Install a domain mapping plugin, and map zz.com to aa.com/zz
    5) Beer.

Thank you. I all worked as you suggested.
