    Hi,

    i know this issue was discussed before. But all tipps i can find are not working for me. I installed now two times the Multisite network. And all works fine, until i try to "create a site" with a registered user. Then my WordPress (with Buddypress Plugin) throws out a 404 error, that the page cannot be found.

    The WordPress is installed on a subdomain: dev.mydomain.de
    The User generated blogs should be located in subdirs like dev.domain.de/myblog

    The htaccess looks like that:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

    # uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]

    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule  ^[_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
    RewriteRule  ^[_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/(.*\.php)$ $1 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]

    The wp-config.php like that:

    define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
    define('MULTISITE', true);
    define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false);
    $base = '/';
    define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'dev.mydomain.de');
    define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
    define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
    define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);

    I don't know, how to go on...
    Please help.

    Thanks
    Bye René

    dev.mydomain.de/blogs/create/

    My Permalink structure is:

    /blog/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

    Although my Blog is not located under /blog !!??

    OK, it seems i have found it myself. After Installing Multisite, you have to setup Buddypress which site is used for site creation. It was set to /blogs/ and didn't work. But it's weird, that it worked, when i set the Page to "Blogs". Now it seems to work.
