I haven’t added or updated anything recently, but only 4 of 20 plug-ins show up.

reinstalled WordPress 3.1, is a network upgrade (seven sites) also can’t find a way to deactivate the last site that I activated.

Been going around and around with this for several hours so I may be punchy. The someone else with a clear mind can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance
    Ron

  • Are some of the plugins Network Activated?

Are you going to your domain.com/wp-admin/network URL?

All the Super Controls are there now πŸ™‚ Inluding a plugins page that lists all your network plugins.

Spherical & Ipstenu Thanks for the quick replies. Yes it the Network activated ones that are not showing up.

After reflecting the problem I realize I had added a new site to the network and there was a plug-in that was causing problems with the new site. And I was unable to find a way disabled it.

We had a presentation to do involving the new site and out of desperation I deleted the plug-in directly it in FTP.

Anyway I reinstall it but didn’t activate and all the plugin show were there supposed to. I look in the database in the hopes that I could locate the the plugin files there. But I could not find them???

There still is no way to detractive this plugin in WP? Yes it happened after the 3.1 upgrade, but did not affect the excessing sites.

    Any Ideas

    Thanks
    Ron

Yes it the Network activated ones that are not showing up.

Are you looking for them on the INDIVIDUAL sites or at wp-admin/network/plugins.php ?

Cause you will NOT see them on domain.com/wp-admin/plugins.php anymore. Network plugins are ONLY shown on the NETWORK plugin page πŸ™‚

and out of desperation I deleted the plug-in directly it in FTP.

That;s exactly the process you need to follow when removing wayward and misbehaving plugins.

Network activated plugins will not show up on an individual site’s plguins page. they will show up in the Network Admin -> plugins page.

And as long as I keep that plugin installed and not activated everything works and shows up where it belongs.

But I cant find a way to uninstall it through the admin plugin panel.

Try activating it and then deactivate it? Wich sounds stupid now that I say it aloud, but weirder things have worked.

Or just… remove it via ftp again?

    (@ron-mahon)

If I reactive it every thing still works. If deactivate it everything still works. if I remove it via FTP is broke.

My thinking is since I never see the delete button maybe I installed uninstalled it on one of the subdomain-sites.

That’s what I going to investigate next. Put I not shore how

Does any one know where this is stores in the DB?

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

Possibly, but it’s all in the same…Oh OH.

What if it was still ACTIVE on a subsite?

I mean, network DEActivation does NOT deactivate it if you had, previously, manually activated it.

Does any one know where this is stores in the DB?

    It’s not.

I mean, not unless you’re trying to search the db to see if a particular plguin is activated on a sub site.

If deactivate it everything still works. if I remove it via FTP is broke.

    WHAT is broke?

Sorry the network plugins don’t display.
One other thing before when you uncultivated a plugin you had two options.
one delete the plugin and two delete all files.

Neighter of the options excess any more, not for network plugins or regular plugins.

I love a good mystery when in a book or movie.

    Thanks

WordPress should not have ever had a delete folder and a delete files option.

The two options should have been deactivate and delete. That’s it. Delete was always an all or nothing.

Go through ALL your blogs and see if any of them are using this plugin. Yes, check EACH sub blog manually right now.
