[resolved] [closed] Multiple WP Single Installs - Copy/Mirror DB's to central DB? (11 posts)

    Hi,

I am in the process of building a platform using WordPress - I have done a good amount of research and for a variety of reasons, WP multi-site is not suitable for what I want to achieve. As such, I will be using a single wordpress install for every theme/website I sell to an end-user.

Not using multi-site creates a few issues for me; I think a system like http://infinitewp.com/ or https://managewp.com/ solves most of them, but not this:

    • Id like to be able to allow users to signup to each individual install/website - That is easily achievable.
    • Id also like to be able to allow users to use those same signup details to access a separate community/news site where they can comment on posts, post on the forum etc.

How would I go about copying/mirroring user signup details (in an automated manner) from a number of different single installs/databases into one central database?

    Thanks.

Didnt have any luck with this last time, but hopefully this bump will fare better.

    Quick summary of my question:

I want two separate single wordpress installs. When the user signs up to website 1, i'd like those signup details to be automatically added/replicated to website 2 database.

So the user selects my_username and my_password as his details. Id like him to be able to log into website 1 and website 2 with those details. Is this possible? (I know about wordpress multisite and it doesn't work for my project, mainly due to SSL cert complications).

    Thanks.

Be aware that you bumped your thread right off that list.

Not sure what that means. I didn't get a reply for over 5 months; was it ill-advised to bump it to try and get a response?

I was referring to your second post. By initially replying to your thread you removed yourself from the no-replies list.

Ok. So would I better served closing this thread and starting a new topic?

Yes, we can say this thread is regarding WordPress version 3.8 and your new thread is regarding a different version.
