So I just updated to the latest Version of WordPress and noticed the multiple tag function is no longer working (i.e. ?tag=tag1+tag2+tag3) I was wondering if there is anyway I can add this code back into 3.1.1. Otherwise, how do you downgrade WordPress? This is a very important function for my site: http://autodiyonline.com/ I use the multi-tag function to find posts using the Make/ Model/ Year section of my site.

Any ideas on what files were changed in the Update?

Hi, I’m still on 3.0.5 but it looks like someone else has the same problem, since version 3.1:

Maybe the link below helps? If so, please let me know because I also use multiple tags but would like to upgrade to 3.1.1 if possible…

    Thanks!

I don’t think the fixes are in 3.1.1 based on that ticket. Looks like it’ll be in 3.1.2

The link below did not help me :

    Still not working…
    Thanks anyway!

I just downloaded the files for 3.0.5 and overwrote the 3.1.1 install. I will wait for a fix since it is a big part of my site.

That’s right, I’ve got a similar problem. I recently installed the latest WordPress version, 3.1.1, and that seems to have disabled the “Post Tags” function!

    – I click in the box where it has “Add New Tag” – that text does NOT disappear.
    – I enter one of my old tags anyway (thereby overwriting that “Add New Tag” text, ugly!) – there does NOT appear any prompting of old tags that begin with the letters I have input.
    – I type in the old tags anyway, click on “Add” – nothing happens, as the tags remain in the input-box and nothing appears below indicating that any tags have been added.

    Here’s hoping for a quick-fix from somewhere/somebody!

    @cbourbeillon,

Thanks for trying that out – I had hoped a quick patch from that ticket might help…

But since you’re saying it doesn’t, I will not be able to upgrade to 3.1 or 3.1.1 until it is fixed, which I hope is soon.

Bummer this one slipped through and people are reverting. If anybody has any other ideas could you please post them – thank you!

For all whom it may concern –

I found the solution to my own Post Tags problem. It’s clear that it’s the latest version of the Blackbird Pie plug-in (version 0.5.0.1 which messes up the tagging function. Deactivate that, and everything is again OK.

@maonl : My issue has nothing to do with that plugin (I don’t have it).

My problem is with a multiple tags URL like these :
    http://www.mydomain.com/tag/tag1+tag2
    or
    http://www.mydomain.com?tag=tag1+tag2

Before, it was working fine and give me a list of posts containing tag1 AND tag2. Now, instead, I have a “404 not found” page.

But maybe there is another plugin which messes the tagging function somewhere… Any clue ?

Put a trailing slash at the end? I was able to get mine to work at http://www.mydomain.com/tag/tag1+tag2/

    (@cbourbeillon)

    @lpstenu: yeepeeh !!! And thanks !!!

First, I tried the trailing slash at the end, as you indicate, but no change : still having the 404 page…

Then, I tried again, but this time with the URL containing a question mark, and with a trailing slash before it :
    http://www.mydomain.com/?tag=tag1+tag2
And this kind of URL works fine (with or without trailing slash at the end), providing posts containing tag1 AND tag2.

The other type of URL ( http://www.mydomain.com/tag/tag1+tag2, with or without trailing slash at the end) still doesn’t work for me. I don’t know why, but I don’t mind now I have the other option…

lpstenu, thanks again for the trailing slash clue which helped me to solve my issue!!!

I wonder if the IIS permalink fixes caught something weird in there. How odd.

Anyone know if this is fixed in 3.1.2 so that http://mysite.com/?tag=tag1+tag2+tag3 works

According to this write-up, this multiple tag bug has been fixed in release 3.1.2…

    http://wordpress.org/news/2011/04/wordpress-3-1-2/

Has anybody here tried it yet?

lol I’m scared to try it, I don’t want to mess up my Tag function and have to revert back again.
