   Hey guys. I have a friend who loves what ive done with wordpress and wants to move forward using them. one problem his server doesnt use php.. is there any way to connect his website using my database settings or is that not just possible. are there external sites that will allow me to connect to php. his provider says they dont support php but asp yes. i dont know squat about asp. thanks

   PHP and the MySQL database are two different things.
   If no PHP on the server - find a decent host.

   WP will run only if you have PHP.

   really someone needs to talk to these guys... even windows-centric hosts should have at least one box with php/mysql on it.

   It wouldn't work anyway. He needs to run the WP software before his blog could try to connect to your DB. Without PHP on his box, no, there is absolutely no way.
