• Is there a way to use more than one instance of the shortcode in the same post / page? I’m looking for a straightforward way to locate specific content modules within a grid, and reuse the modules in different configurations in different locations. This plugin seemed like the perfect solution but it only works once per post.

  • Yes, I am wanting the same thing. Any ideas on how to do this?

Ah, don’t worry, it seems to work now.

    Hey there.
I just installed this plugin so I can place a few posts on the static home page of my site.

I was able to get it to work using the post-content shortcode to place one specific post at the bottom of my page.

But when I tried to add another post-content shortcode to the same page to put another post on the page, then the whole page went blank with nothing displaying. Very strange.

I am using image=true and show_excerpt=true, because I only want to show my featured image and an excerpt for a few posts at the bottom of my static home page.. not the whole post..

I was hoping this plugin would do the trick, but it only seems to work for a single post only on my page.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Anyone watching this forum know how to get this to work?

I apologize for not responding in so long. Been really busy over the past few months. Taking a look at things, now. Thanks.

@einstem – I can’t seem to replicate the issue you’re experiencing. However, if you got a blank screen when you tried to do this, that means there was probably a server error of some sort. Do you have access to your server’s error logs, so you can try to see what error was generated when you got the blank page?

I am able to include multiple post-content and post-list shortcodes in one page without any trouble.

Yes- That is exactly what happens.

When I add a second shortcode right under the first but to a second post, then my entire page ends up empty except the header title. All the content just “vanishes”. If I take out the second shortcode, then everything returns.

I don’t get any error message at all on the screen.. just a screen that says “home” at the top.. everything else is blank..

I can probably publish my “draft” page out to my site if you want to look at the HTML for the page.

@einstem – Unfortunately, that’s a server error, so I’m most likely not going to see anything in the HTML that would tell me what’s going on. We’ll need to see what errors are getting printed into your server’s error log (many hosts will store that file as error.log or error_log in your public_html FTP directory).

Can you upgrade to the new version I released today and see if this still happens?

Ok.. Let me try the plugin upgrade first (easy enough to try!).

And if that doesn’t work, I will try to find my server error logs and see what they say.

Will let you know in a bit.

Thanks so much for trying to figure this out!

Well.. I tried the upgrade, but same issue 🙁

I also decided to try turning of my Cache plugin, but no change there either.

I did find a error.log in my “root” directory and it has the same error over and over, so no idea what it means. But it goes back many months.

[04-Sep-2014 14:47:08 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare format_to_post() (previously declared in /home1/einstej8/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php:1284) in /home1/einstej8/public_html/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 3440

Is this related to your plugin at all?

There is also a error.log file in my actual URL home directory, but it has no updates since early last month, so nothing in there.
