What is the purpose of having extra pages? I'm new to blogging but I was hoping to seperate day-to-day life posts and a kind of writing journal I'm putting together. Is it possible to post more than once on another page? What's the deal?

Pages are generally for static content, which is not updated often. For instance, an About Me page, a contact page, or whatever.
You could separate the two types of posts by category - for example, your journal could be under a category called "journal".
