• I’ve just setup a new wordpress installation and a fresh installation of The Events Calendar.

However, nothing works as expected – the URLs of the events are not working, their dates are not pulled and displayed properly, the events are not found under their corresponding start date, and various template tags are having issues and are not working as expected – for example tribe_show_month().

So basically, i’d encourage the plugin developers to setup several fresh installs and test various use cases (with WP_DEBUG TRUE of course), because there are plenty of unexplained issues that were not there in the last version. And if these issues are not fixed, there is no reason that we would continue to use this plugin for our projects, and we’d have to use another solution.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hey tyxla. Thanks for the note here, and let me obviously start by apologizing for the poor experience here. I will say that what you’ve noted is not the core behavior of the calendar, nor is it an issue we’re seeing widespread reports of…which makes me think there may be something isolated to your installation that is causing this.

The point you make about testing on fresh installs with wp_debug enabled is a good; in fact, we actually do all our pre-release testing this way. Most of it is done on a stock Twenty Twelve install with debug enabled to start, where we ensure everything works 100% out of the box. From there we test locally on a myriad of popular themes to ensure basic integration with those as well. I definitely appreciate your feedback here but also want you to rest assured that, as part of our development and QA process, we’re doing this actively before each release.

All that to say, I’d love to see a link to your site where these issues are occurring so we can check it out and try to advise you. If they’re bugs with the plugin, we’ll of course get them patched for an upcoming maintenance build. And if it is a byproduct of something on your installation we’ll do our best to point you towards what that is.

Thanks for your patience and support so far. Looking forward to hearing from you on this.
