[resolved] Multiple issues when adding captions/alt title/description to images (5 posts)

    Hi there,

I'm having several problems when I want to add a caption and/or alternative title and/or description to images that I've inserted into posts:

    1. I can never directly add a caption to an image at the moment that I insert that image into the post. When I do that, the image itself becomes invisible and I only get a link with the image title in an empty frame (where the image was supposed to be).
--> I always have to first insert the image and than add the caption using the 'edit' function

    2. Sometimes even that doesn't work and I cannot add a caption because when I do, the image becomes invisible

    3. That problem sometimes also occurs when adding an alternative title or a description to an image; both when I add it directly when inserting the image as when I add it after using the 'edit' function

    4. Sometimes the caption appears above the inserted image and not below

    5. Since today, the caption area doesn't recognize the combination '& copy ;' for making the copyright sign anymore. It just shows something like '&ampamp copy ;' in the caption instead of the copyright sign

Does anybody know how to remedy this, please?
    Thank you

  2. Sounds like there's something funky going on with your WordPress installation. What version of WordPress are you using? It is the latest one? If not, I would upgrade and see if the issue resolves itself.

If not, I would deactivate all your plugins and see if one of them is responsible.

if that is still not it, then I would try switching themes.

    Hey Christine,

Thank you for your quick response.
I have the latest WP version (3.5.) and I've already tried deactivating all of my plugins.
The first time I did that, the problem didn't seem to lie with my plugins, but I suspected it was the CK Editor plugin I use so I tried turning just that one off once more and that seems to have solved it for now.
I need to get some sleep now, but I'll look into it even further tomorrow and if it really is the plugin, than I'll mark this as resolved and start looking for another plugin:/

  4. You may also want to try different browsers too. It could be that one of them is having issues.

I'm pretty sure it's the editor, as I'm having no problems inserting images today (with the editor off).
