  • Hey jschlick,

The plugin will currently only allow one instance of its form per page. So at this time multiple forms solely from the plugin on a single page are not expected to work. However, you do have a few other options to consider.

One option would be to use our embed code, which is provided for each list in your MailChimp account. When using the embed code, make sure that the form is either a) not using Javascript or b) the embed code is placed within an iFrame.

Check out this article, which elaborates as to why those limitations are required:
Can I have more than one MailChimp signup form on one webpage?: http://eepurl.com/gOGD

Ultimately the issue lies in having multiple Javascript-enabled forms on one page. Because the plugin’s form uses Javascript validation, the second form will either have to not use Javascript or be in an iFrame, and it should function just fine.

Another option, if your scenario allows for it, is to utilize groups. If your intention is to ultimately have two separate forms pointing to two different lists, you can consider using a single list instead and use groups to maintain affiliations within that list. If you do go this route, you can then use the plugin to add a single form with those group options, so there’s not a need to add a second sign up form.

If you have any questions, let us know!

Can someone tell me how to do this? I’m trying to have people signup for location updates and promotions updates…SedationVacation.com

    Hey Sedationvacation,

Groups can be created in the “Lists” area of your MailChimp account. Take a look at this article here:

How can I add Groups for segmenting to my lists and signup forms?: http://eepurl.com/gOGM

Which walks through how to do just that. Once you create groups in your list, make sure you use the “update list” button in your plugin’s settings area, then you should be able to enable those newly created groups to be shown on your form. If you have any questions, let me know. 🙂
