I’m about to have a tantrum over this!

I had an install of WP on my local server and wanted to add a new site so I would therefore have two installations of WP sites able to run on my local server (XAMPP). I’ll call them ‘install1’ and ‘install2’; 1 was created and installed as per instructions in the htdocs folder. I created another folder in htdocs called install2 and copied all the contents of htdocs into that for my new site and modified the wp-config.php for a new database name.

    I tried this solution – http://wordpress.org/support/topic/installing-multiple-wordpress-sites-on-local-host?replies=6

but have managed to somehow add another database installation that appears to have overwritten the first install. Looking in PHP admin I can see both databases and the data from the initial installation appears intact, so I think I’ve not redirected the config files to the right databases.

I can access the original site at http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php

but cannot access the new site, install2.

Please help before I go mad.
