• I’ve been building websites using WP as a CMS for several years now, and one of the things I always run into is having multiple text areas on a page, like a homepage with a main content area, and then a few columns for other information under it.

In the past, my developer has always created child pages and simply connected those pages to those areas, but I was thinking about it today and thought it would be much easier, especially for the clients who have to use WP and get a little confused, to have multiple content areas per page complete with section titles.

For example, on a home page, you could have the main content area, plus several other content areas underneath it. You could have them all display on one page, and still have the page specific bits that always show up.

Having this would solve a couple things: A. would negate the need for the child page hack B. would make it easier for clients to use and C. I’m wondering if having content for one page split up into several pages hurts SEO rankings for that page.

    What do you think?

  • I’m missing that too. Until there’s an elegant solution for multiple content areas, you colud try Pods. It’s a nice approach!

Thanks for posting that, it looks like a good solution! I’m going to have to play with it and get a feel for how it works.

I really hope this is the solution I’ve been waiting for, and if it is, I sincerely thank you. Have you tried it?
