Multiple Feed Creation (4 posts)

I have a podcast network with a variety of shows on it. I currently have them seperated into sub categories per show underneath the main category named podcasts. In wordpress under post categories, I have enabled category casting to create multiple feeds for the individual shows as well as on feed for all of them together. I don't like the default feed location (website/category/podcast/show/feed/), so I changed to something simpler (website/show/feed). I updated the settings and clicked validate feed. It returned with a "Server returned HTTP Error 404: Not Found" Am I stuck having to use the default feed name? Is it possible to name the feed whatever I want? Is there an actual location of the RSS feed file that is created that I can access?

WordPress does not create static feed files. Feeds are produced always on demand. (I guess using a cache plugin would change that.)

I'm sure that there is a possibility to shorten the category feed URLs. One way would be to create RewriteRules in the .htaccess file (see http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Creating_and_editing_.28.htaccess.29) of your blog (the file may have a different name depending on the server software).
But I would not be surprised if there would a plugin which would help you do these settings.

    I changed to something simpler

    How did you do that?

A different approach would be to configure so called podPress Feeds on the Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress. You could not really choose the URL scheme but it would be shorter. For instance http://www.example.com/feed/mycategroyfeedname

You may use for instance the plugin Rediretion (http://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/) to redirect requests of the website/show/feed-URLs to the website/category/podcast/show/feed/-URLs
