• Hi, I have been using and testing All in one events calendar on my work website. I had it working great but recently just changed the permalink structure.

Since then i cannot browse to a different Month on the calendar as it either times out or takes me to one of our posts on our website. Similar the upcoming events, if you select the event it just takes us to a random post.

I think this may have something to do with the permalink structure but cannot work it out.

    Our website is:
    dev.st-augustines.worcs.sch.uk

    The calendar page :

    Many Thanks

  • Which permalink setting have you got selected in Dashboard->Settings->Permalinks ?

Hi I have set it to Post Name.

    Thanks

I’d change it to Default then change it back to Post Name. Make sure to save between.

Once that’s done, try the following and see if it helps:
Dashboard->Events->Settings –> Viewing Events tab and hit Save Settings.
Dashboard->Events->Theme Options and hit Save Options.

Hi Thanks for your help, It works on the default permalinks but not the postname. Do i need to change the code or anything for it to work with the postname permalink convention ?

    Thanks

That’s quite odd as I’m using postname myself without issue.

Can you check what your WordPress Address URL and Site Address (URL) are set to in Dashboard->Settings->General?

If they don’t have a / on the end of each, put one in and save. The / will disappear but it will update the DB with the / inside. I’ve seen this sort of thing cause weird things with some plugin/theme combinations.

hi , sorry for the very late reply. Thanks for your help so far ! I have still not been able to get this issue fixed. Both of those URLS have a / at the end of them. Do you think this would have anything to do with the IIS Rewrite rules needed to use %POSTNAME% ?

    Thanks

Do you have any other plugins running?

Can you post a link to one of the “random posts” an event links to?

Reason I ask is that they’ve changed the structure from /ai1ec_event to /event. This is a very generic permalink and can therefore clash with another plugin which posts using the permalink “/event”. I don’t know why they changed as it causes more problems and chances of clashes.

Also – is there a reason your calendar defaults to July 2014 and not the current month?

If you want to change it, leave the “Default calendar start date (optional)” field blank in Events\Settings\Viewing Events page.

    Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I have removed the default date from the settings, Thanks! when i select to move to the next month on the calendar i get taken to this page
    http://dev.st-augustines.worcs.sch.uk/Home/507/

Is there a way i could change the Structure back to /ai1ec_event just to rule that out? I have many plugins running and this may be the issue.

    Thanks

Do you have any other plugins running on the site?

If so, it could be a clash. Disable all of them except for the ai1ec plugin and see if that solves the problem. If it does, re-enable them one by one, testing the calendar as you go to see which one causes the issue.

Hi Thanks for the Reply, i have disabled all of the plugins apart from the Calendar and the problem is still there. I am using the customizr theme if it makes any difference?

    Thanks

Could be a clash with the theme.

Have you tried disabling then re-enabling the ai1ec plugin?

Other than that I don’t know – I’ll have to leave it to the experts.

I am having a similar problem. Except whenever, I click on the next month or the previous month (this includes different years) and if I try to change the view of the calendar from month to day, agenda, or week (anything other than month), I keep on getting a loading icon that seems to take forever and never loads and whenever I try to refresh the page I keep on getting a 403 forbidden error. I have tried to fix it, but no luck.

I am currently using the WordPress version 3.9.2 and the All-in-one Event Calendar version 2.1.2

I am also using ThemeAlley.Business for my theme.

You could try switching to the TwentyThirteen theme temporarily to see if the issue is still there.

If the issue is there then I would say it’s a problem with the ai1ec plugin and you may need to remove it and re-install it. You’ll lose your calendar data though if you do.

Thank you for your assistance, but I can not really switch my theme because all the work (css and such) and I’m afraid that it might be lost and I have already customized it the way my company desires it to look. Having to go back and redo all of that is something I’m not really looking forward to.

But I can guarantee that it is not a theme issue, seeing as there are other people with the same if not similar problem all with different themes.

I have also removed the calendar plugin and re-installed it, but I keep on receiving the same issue.
