[resolved] Multiple emails (9 posts)

    One of my subscribers on the BFT Autoresponder just told me that he got 4 of the most recent email right in a row. The week before he got 3 in a row. The week before 2 in a row, the week before only 1. Do I have some kind of setting off, or is this a glitch?

    We cannot investigate this kind of issues. The software does not have such logical bug otherwise everyone would be getting it. It must be a problem with your server. Sorry, there's nothing I can do about this.

    I have updated so we'll see... but FYI, I polled my list subscribers, and there are multiple people who have received various versions of duplicate emails (twice it has happened, 3 times, 1 time, etc.). I'm not sure how you can be so confident it's not a glitch in the program somehow...

    If there was a glitch, it's fixed from now on. I can't magically remove duplicate emails sent in the past. So polling your subscribers whether they received duplicates in the previous days is of no use.

    I am confident duplicate emails are not possible, because the logic of sending is super straight and simple, it can't go wrong. The source code is open, ask any programmer to have a look at it and you'll get the same response. I had plenty of mates look at the code along with me.

    Sorry to reopen this one but just today 7/23/2013 I had 4 of my subscribers inform me that they received 5 of the latest email in my series. I know you think there's no way the plugin could do that but it happened. Are you saying the problem has to be with WordPress or my server somehow? If so, how would you suggest I go about asking my support to look into it (I don't know the right tech-language)?

    As a beginning please make sure you have the latest version of the plugin. Some time ago it was possible to send duplicate emails if instances of the cron job overlapped. Now this is prevented (since quite some time).

    If you are having the latest version and still receiving duplicates, I really don't know what to do. You need someone to investigate and debug it with full access to your server and WP installation.

    I am too busy don't have the resources to do this even as a paid consultation but every decent programmer should be able to help you.

    2.0 is now much improved and doesn't allow simultaneous running of the cron jobs, pls try it, hopefully that have been the reason for your issue.
