Multiple domains on one server

    I’m completely new to WordPress and just about to install it, however, I have several domains hosted on one server. Do I need to create a separate WordPress installation within each domain, and do I need a separate MySQL database for each, or can I use just one WordPress installation in the root directory and one MySQL db?
    I suppose this boils down to: Can I run several different blogs on one installation?
